I was recently approached by the makers of a new app for bakers called Rate My Cake. It's made by the same people who produce Cake Decorating Magazine, so I decided to have a little look. I knew there were no similar apps already on the market so I was curious how it would get bakers interacting with each other.
It's absolutely free to download and is already attracting quite a few creative folk who have been busily adding photos since I joined a few days ago. As well as sharing photos, you can follow other bakers, look at their pictures for inspiration, customise them with effects and frames, share recipes, and chat with other bakers.
You can even post to Twitter and Facebook at the same time. It's like Instagram for cake lovers! It'll get even better as more people join (hint - join...)

ReplyDeleteMy proudest cake has to be the one I made recently for my dads 60th birthday. It was my 2nd fondant covered cake EVER and my first stacked cake. It had a fake £20 note and a betting slip on top make from sugar paper and everyone commented how good it was. I was so worried it would taste bad that I had to cut the cake up and try it immediately - and weirdly, im not a cake eater. But thankfully it was lovely! :-D
ReplyDeleteI helped design a cake when I worked at fortnum & mason many moons ago and it was a fab feeling when I saw the finished cake. Think this is where my love of cakes started.
