A few weeks ago, my good friend Lucie asked me if I had any pretty bakeware that I could lend her for a photoshoot she had planned for her little girl, April. Cue me rummaging around cupboards, under the stairs and even in the bundt collection...

I had no idea what they were going to do with them, but was astounded with the results - they were amazing! I was so taken by the idea of the 'cake smash' photoshoot, that I thought it was worth sharing. Cat and Suzanne from CT Images Photography Studio in Bolton created the most beautiful shots of April. She's already as cute as a button, but these shots really capture her inquisitive little nature.
April was wearing a pretty vintage style apron made by her rather clever Nanna, which was created from fabric used at Lucie and Kev's wedding. Lucie also made a gingerbread man cake using my Nordic Ware tin, for April to decorate. She had a whale of a time decorating Auntie Katy's floor!
Here are some of my favourite shots...
Cake smash shoots are a creative alternative to birthday portraits and a fantastic way to introduce eager little fingers to cake! Cat said 'We let them go wild and watch their lovely expressions as they smear icing all over their faces and tummies. Such a brilliant, innocent experience for your little
ones and creates some of the funniest, just adorable memories'.
